I found a discarded painting on the streets of San Francisco. It made a perfect ground for a class I was in at the College of Marin. I let much of the found painting seep through to add interest and dimension to the new portrait. Whomever the original artist was they had added a lot of glued on texture to their canvas which I also kept.
I modeled my self portrait after the Bay Area painter, David Park. David Park is one of my favorite painters.
